Last updated: March 11, 2017

America for Animals, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is responsible for the development and operation of the Humane Eating Project application ("the Application"). This privacy policy informs users of our practices with regards to the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information. By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information we collect and why?

When you use the Application, it accesses your device's current location using GPS technology to find nearby restaurants. That location information is not saved by America for Animals, nor will we share your current location with other users or partners.
Analytics
The Application tracks its own usage (which screens/functions are used the most). Those analytics are used for tracking the most popular pages within the application. Flurry Analytics from Yahoo is the library used within the Application.
Contacts
The Application will access your device's contacts if the user chooses to use the optional "Invite your Friends" feature. The purpose is to pre-populate "To" field of an informational email that can be sent to suggest a contact try the Application and is not stored or otherwise used by the Application.

In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID and information about the way you use the application.

Information you share

The Application allows users to share information with other third party services linked through the Application. Those services include:

Usage of the Application

The Application does not directly request Facebook user credentials; instead, it will either (1) use the account currently logged into the Facebook application, if Facebook is installed on the device; or, (2) use Facebook's approved OAuth mechanism to authenticate the user (user is sent to a Facebook.com URL address). Facebook credentials are not stored in the Application.

Twitter

The Application does not directly request Twitter user credentials; instead, it will either (1) use the account currently logged into the Twitter application, if Twitter is installed on the device; or, (2) use Twitter's approved OAuth mechanism to authenticate the user (user is sent to a Twitter.com URL address). Users should consult the Privacy Policy of the services listed above for detailed information.

Information we share
America for Animals will not share collected information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of the America for Animals, unless required by law.

Your Opt Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. You can also deny the application's request to use your location and access your contacts and the app can otherwise still be used, albeit not as simply.
